End of giles cox just past the Knowleys end junction now floods with and bit of rain it didn't do this before the new road surface. Concerned if we have major storms the houses at the end will get flooded

Shockingly terrible quality replacement road surface. Damaged and lifting already in places, with potential damage to cars/ tyres. Laid on top of existing surface and not meeting/ level with road edge. Debris left in large clumps and ridges in the surface, its that bad potential risk to cyclists.

Dear Gloucestershire Highways, I am writing to raise a serious complaint regarding the recent road resurfacing works in the area. The standard of the work is extremely poor. There is a significant amount of loose tarmac and debris left across the road, creating an untidy and potentially hazardous surface for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. The overall finish is extremely messy and does not appear to be of an acceptable standard for recently completed highway works. I am also questioning why this road required resurfacing in the first place. Prior to these works, the road appeared to be in a perfectly serviceable condition, and I cannot understand the justification for carrying out such disruptive works when the result has left the road in a considerably worse state. I would ask Gloucestershire Highways to urgently inspect the work and explain: Why this road was selected for resurfacing. Who carried out the work and what quality checks were undertaken. Why so much loose tarmac and debris has been left behind. What action will be taken to rectify the poor standard of the work. Whether the contractor will be required to return and properly clean up and finish the road. I would appreciate a proper response rather than simply being advised that the works have been completed. Extremely poor road surfacing effort, 8th September

This is the whole of Beech Close, Hardwicke. The road itself is extremely uneven and I would expect this cannot just ‘settle’ into place. It looks appalling and being rushed through the access points was unacceptable - I worry for tyres and underside of cars being affected by all loose tar/rubble left in gutters, pavements and road crossings and fresh laid tar. Tap has also been left covering road gutters and the layer of tar covering manhole covers themselves.

Very poor quality road resurfacing, 8th September

All drains in Beech close have been left completely blocked by tape and tarmac. The quaity of the work completed is extremely poor and will not last. The road looks and feels extremely rough and will damage tires when driven on. It has made the whole street look messy because the work is untidy and tarmac has been left all over the pavements and surrounding areas. Poor signage has led to having to drive through areas of freshly laid tarmac leading to concern over damage to my personal vehicle from tar picked up by the tires and underside of the car. Concerned the whole area has now become become unsafe to ride a bicycle on.

Open field drain blocked, 8th September

The open field drain that runs parallel to Linfoot Road is overgrown and blocked. That would stop water draining off the road and fields once the drain starts to fill in autumn / winter. I do not know who is responsible, but if it is not GCC can you please contact the responsible person and ask them to clear it. Also, the wall to the field drain is broken outside 16 Linfoot Road. Again I do not know who is responsible but if not GCC can you please contact the responsible person. Many thanks
