Botched road repair destroys historic cobbles

Reported via desktop in the Other Road Issues category anonymously at 18:41, Sunday 23 August 2026

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9991036.

Corner cutting after SSEN gas works - poorly fitted tarmac after gas works and removal of cobbled border to historic road. Looks awful, and ruins historical road decoration.

This happened in Surrey Quays, London and the electricity company were forced to remove all of the aphsalt and reinstate the cobbles. There is no reason for it.
