Concrete slab separation causing dangerous road surface for cyclists
Reported in the Carriageway Defect category anonymously at 20:29, Mon 6 March 2017 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Bristol City Council 46 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 996561.
See reported problem on Airport Road near junction with Salcombe Road. These kinds of defects can cause cyclist travelling at moderate speed to be violently thrown to the carriageway causing serious injuries. This defect adjoins a speed ramp, both sides, both directions. The fault has been found at the other ramps: the nearby pedestrian crossing, and outside no. 30 Throgmorton Road. Again both sides, both directions. Urgent attention is needed to avoid a Red Claim.

The quality of the road has deteriorated to the extent that it is now a hazard for all road users - the uneven surface causes car steering to 'slide' or 'pull' out of the drivers control even at lower speeds. Because of this I only narrowly avoided hitting a parked car - it needs to be looked into as a matter of urgency before there is damage to property or serious injury.
