Grafitti on pavement

Reported via desktop in the Graffiti on bridges/subways category anonymously at 12:04, Tuesday 11 August 2026

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9931771.

Grafitti on pavement. CCTV indicates applied at 1246BST on Monday 10 August 2026. Star and "El Loco" in red. ("El Loco" is Spanish, and literally translates to "the crazy man" or "the madman" in English)

Updates

  • An attempt (by someone unknown) to eradicate the graffiti has failed. It remains visible.

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 08:53, Tuesday 22 September 2026

  • Today the graffiti was repeated, i.e. over-written. The apparent 'perpetrator' is actually a Scottish and Southern Electricity Network operative re-applying markings to the pavement to signify planned excavation. The star represents the point of excavation, and the 'El Loco' (translation from Spanish: 'Crazy Man') is the operative's 'identity' within the company should any reference to the job be required. Perhaps more professional signage would be appropriate which would not be construed as inappropriate graffiti...!

  • The Scottish and Southern Electricity Network work appears to have been completed, but its 'graffiti' has not been removed from the footway. Messy, and sub-standard. SSEN not setting a very good example here. SSEN, clean it off, please!
