There are no pavements outside my home and I was recently narrowly missed speeding motorist when walking into the village. The motorist apologised profusely but I feel it is only a matter of time before tragedy strikes. Despite it being an existing 20 mph zone, motorists travelling fast to/from the A4074, often fail to slow down at the start of the 20 mph zone (or the existing speed monitoring camera) when entering the village or, when leaving the village, often speed up as they whizz down the hill towards the A4074 after a 'frustratingly' long spell through the existing 20 mph restriction through Woodcote. There is a definite 'zoom' factor at this particular point in the road. Even the buses generally fly through here, often hugely in excess of the speed limits.
Along with our neighbours and walkers using the nearby public pathway which routes along this section of the road, we have no choice but to navigate this short but high risk section of the road if we want to walk anywhere. It can be a frightening experience, especially during busy traffic periods.
In addition to existing measures, is it possible SODC could install a road ramp or other physical restriction along this stretch of road as it enters the village? Thanks.
