Overgrown grass obstructing view when vehicles turn around the verge onto kellaway avenue

Reported via desktop in the Grass cutting category anonymously at 14:30, Friday 31 July 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9878637.

The wild grasses and tall growth in the verge area have become high enough to obstruct visibility for both incoming and outgoing vehicles. As a result, drivers approaching the junction have a significantly reduced line of sight, which makes the junction hazardous and, frankly, an accident waiting to happen.

I want to emphasise that I fully support the Council’s commitment to maintaining wildflower areas and promoting biodiversity. These spaces are valuable and appreciated by many of us in the community. My concern is simply that this particular patch is not well‑suited for tall growth due to its direct impact on road safety.

May I kindly encourage the Council to consider relocating the wildflower area to another part of the same grass/park space, where it can continue to flourish without compromising visibility at the junction. Ensuring clear sightlines at this location would greatly reduce risk for motorists and pedestrians alike.
