Very dangerous corner for pedestrians, horses, tractors, cars, motorcycles due to wrong signs

Reported via mobile anonymously at 10:37, Thursday 23 July 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9833617.

Cars come around this corner so fast that they regularly end up on the bank seen in the photo. It is also a corner that tractors cross to go up Idstone hill. Also people on foot, bicycles and horses cross the main road to go up Idstone hill.

It’s not an accident waiting to happen- it’s a corner where we have help cars from the bank several times and one time we have taken a motorcyclist to hospital.

There are now speed signs put up- but after this dangerous curve and corner.

I cannot begin to tell you how stupid this is.

So please please please could you move the speed signs to the right side of the dangerous bend - ie the north east side of the road leading up Idstone hill? So that fast traffic coming from Ashbury will see the sign before they go past the road up Idstone hill like absolute rockets, risking both their own lives (if colliding with a turning tractor) and other lives (walkers, cyclists, riders).

If unclear I would be very happy to clarify or show the spot so please feel free to call if further information is needed.

Many thanks!
