Bent post, damaged sign, unsightly litter

Reported in the Bus stops category by Adrian Croft at 07:51, Sun 12 February 2017

Sent to Leicester City Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 978728.

1. The post itself has been wonky for months, 2. the sign has been vandalised so the plastic covering the timetable has fallen out and now the timetable sheet is nearly falling out. 3. There's no litter bin so the footpath is covered in chewing gum, cigarette dog ends, and often litter in the footpath, road and grass.

  • I was impressed by the speed of a response from LCC and that someone came out to inspect it in a matter of days, although disappointed that nothing has since been done to fix the bus stop timetable (still only held on by my sellotape, "unbend" the post, or to install a bin.

Included in the reply was the presumption that residents don't like having litter bins outside their home because of the smell and flies; so they instead prefer litter all over their lawns? Very odd response.

  • I think this has now been forgotten about. I guess I'll have to resubmit the issue so it goes back into "the system"
