Traffic lights out of sync

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9773308.

I have been driving from Towcester to Corby daily for over 12 years . And only in recent weeks have I rarely queued coming back on this roundabout to join the A45 approaching from Weston Favell . The traffic has daily for at least 3 weeks been backed up for up to a mile . The lights are only letting a small amount of cars through at a time . Previously this roundabout and junction flowed well . My sat nav often tries to divert me around but I’m sure the local people don’t want extra vehicles driving through their estates and villages when previously the dual carriage way flowed . Not to add the extra miles and time on peoples days .

  • Investigation: Completed (No Action Necessary) - Thank you for your enquiry. This site is monitored daily via CCTV to assess traffic conditions and signal performance. Our observations indicate that traffic levels at this location are currently higher than usual due to drivers diverting away from other nearby roadworks. The traffic signal equipment at this site is due for renewal as part of a planned upgrade programme. In the meantime, we are reviewing the current signal timings and are investigating whether adjustments can be made to improve traffic flow on Saturday mornings ahead of the renewal works. We will continue to monitor the site to ensure the signals operate as effectively as possible until the upgrade takes place.
