Entrances to five Mile Drive Recreation Ground need securing

Reported in the Parks/landscapes category by Peter Barnett at 23:15, Tue 7 February 2017

Sent to Oxford City Council 5 minutes later

The entrances to five Mile Drive Recreation Ground need securing. They represent a safety hazard to children and dogs using the ground.

The locking mechanism on the central gate is badly fitting such that gate does not stay closed and locked, but swings open with the slightest gust of wind. Further, there is no spring mechanism to keep the gate closed, relying instead on people to actively close it - not all do!

The north-eastern entrance to the ground is open - a gap in the hedge with no gate. A gate needs to be installed.

Further, close to the north-east end of the ground, there are several large gaps in the edge which permit easy exit for children and dogs.
