Signposted cycle route partially blocked by barrier

At the top of the signposted cycle route (Dunkirk Pitch) to Amberley, from the former Nailsworth railway line path there is a barrier that is clearly only for pedestrians. Located at; What 3 words ///engages.lows.sprouted It is too narrow for a bike so bikes have to be lifted over the adjacent barrier. Which is difficult or impossible with heavy bikes or with children. It is a steep and tricky path by bike. The sign at the bottom looks relatively new and the barrier has clearly been there for decades. Perhaps the sign needs to reflect the difficulty of the path and or the barrier be replaced with a bollard.

This report has now been passed to the Highways team for assessment.
If repair work is required, it will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
An update on the issue will be provided.
