Too many tries dying unnecessarily

Reported via Android in the Young Tree Requires Maintenance category anonymously at 13:50, Wednesday 8 July 2026

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9754352.

Are the contractors doing their job? I see daily many young trees across Bromley area with no water or support at all,l. It looks like there is no service provided, and it not that difficult if tree friends can manage this locally. Over the last 2 years we have lost a number of trees and it is mot going to get any better.

Thank you.

  • Unfortunately, the prolonged and unprecedented heat this year is having an adverse effect on some of the young trees --even trees planted more than one year ago. To combat this issue additional watering is being organised where possible. We have requested that these trees be added to the contractor's route, but they are very stretched. Wherever possible, simple weeding and mulching of a 1 metre circle around each tree will also improves tree survival and growth.
