Street light 270 knocked down

Reported via mobile in the Street lighting category anonymously at 20:20, Thursday 2 July 2026

Sent to Norfolk County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9724331.

Street light 270 o/s 10 Henby Way NR7 0LD, was knocked down in January 2026. The column was removed and it's position has been grassed over. I was assured the lamp post would be replaced as there is not a lamp for over 200 meters in the vicinity and it is totally dark and causes an unsafe feel for residents and pedestrians. The darker evenings will be upon us before long and this needs attending to with some urgency.

Updates

  • PLEASE HELP (if you haven't already)! If this was Lincolnshire, then Lincolnshire County Council would now be providing prompt, comprehensive, and publicly-available updates to this report, right here on the FixMyStreet website, for everybody to see. Unfortunately, Norfolk County Council don't do that (and they even try to discourage people from actually using FixMyStreet)! Please SIGN THE PETITITION, to urge Norfolk County Council to start collaborating with FixMyStreet, in the same way as Lincolnshire County Council is doing (as well as other places, e.g. Oxfordshire)! PETITION WEB ADDRESS: https://c.org/ Nd7gcrX4Bk (A big thankyou to everybody who has signed the petition so far. We've already got over 490 signatures, but let's keep going, to really make an impact on make Norfolk County Council!)

  • I have been pressing the local council on several occasions to try to get this matter sorted but to no avail.
