Lorrys parking on the pavement and making the road dangerous
Reported anonymously at 20:50, Fri 27 January 2017
Sent to Warwick District Council and Warwickshire County Council 5 minutes later
Large lorries serving the company Groupo Antolin on Tachbrook Park Drive are constantly parking on the road and pavement and obstructing traffic. They have even damaged all of the grass that was on the pavement and it is now just a large mud field! The company should accommodate their lorries on their own site and not use the public road and footpath as a lorry park. It is very dangerous for cyclists and walkers, especially in the dark. It is also a hazard for cars who have to navigate their way through a maze of lorries, cyclists and cars coming in the opposite direction. It's only a matter of time before there is an accident, or even worse, somebody is seriously hurt. The council need to sort this out now!
Warwickshire County Council does not have the authority to deal with vehicles parked inappropriately at this location. For assistance with a vehicle which is causing an obstruction or a danger due to parking you would need to contact the Police who have powers to take appropriate action. The Police have the authority as the Highway Code states“You MUST NOT leave your vehicle or trailer in a dangerous position or where it causes any unnecessary obstruction of the road. [Laws CSDPA sect 21 & RTRA sects 5 & 8]” In such a case they may issue a Fixed Penalty Notice or arrange removal/relocation of the vehicle.

Tachbrook Road is becoming ridiculous at this location, sometime lorrys park, 3 lorrys long which makes getting past at busy times near impossible and sometimes they are staggered as per the attached picture which makes it just as hard to get past.
Surely adding double yellow lines would solve this problem?
