Flooded zebra crossing after rain — drainage issue

This zebra crossing regularly floods after rainfall. Following today’s heavy downpour, there was significant standing water across the full width of the carriageway and crossing area.

The flooding makes the crossing difficult and unsafe to use, especially for pedestrians, wheelchair users, people with buggies, elderly residents and children walking or cycling to school. The road markings and crossing area become partly obscured, and pedestrians risk being splashed or forced to step into deep water.

It appears that there may be no drainage points/gullies immediately before or after the raised zebra crossing, allowing water to collect on both sides. If drainage is present, it may be blocked or inadequate.

Please inspect this location, clear/jet any blocked gullies if present, and consider whether additional drainage work is required to prevent repeated flooding at this pedestrian crossing.
