Localised loss of skid resistance at junction approach when wet

A potentially hazardous reduction in skid resistance exists on the approach to this junction. During light rainfall, the carriageway surface at the immediate junction area exhibited a significantly lower level of grip than the surrounding road surface. The condition appears localised to the junction itself and may be associated with surface contamination, including possible tree sap, organic residue or other deposits. The condition is not readily apparent to approaching motorists and differs noticeably from the remainder of the carriageway.
