I am writing to express my concern regarding the ongoing deterioration of the road on the route towards Crondall, particularly on the bend just past the cottages on the corner. It has been over two months since these potholes were first reported, yet no repairs have been carried out. During this time, the condition of the road has worsened significantly. The carriageway has eroded to the extent that this section has effectively become single track, with deterioration around the drain and continued substantial loss of the road edge. The situation has become so severe that someone local has placed sandbags within part of the eroded area, presumably to prevent further collapse. Motorists are now forced to drive in the middle of the road to avoid the potholes and erosion. This creates an extremely dangerous situation on what is already a blind bend, greatly increasing the risk of head-on collisions with oncoming vehicles and putting cyclists, pedestrians, and horse riders at serious risk. The danger is further compounded by the increase in traffic using this route. Given the obvious safety concerns and the length of time since the defects were reported I request immediate action to remedy the multiple defects. The condition of the road is continuing to deteriorate and requires urgent attention before a fatal accident occurs. Please could you provide an update on when repairs are scheduled to take place.
