• Bromley will only undertake works to a tree for an identified health & safety or highway obstruction issue. Please note that as outlined in our Tree Management Strategy Trees – London Borough of Bromley

  Bromley Council will not prune or remove trees in relation to the following: • Branches overhanging property boundaries or buildings • Lack of direct or indirect sunlight • Where a tree is thought be too tall, wide, large, or old • Branches and/or limbs in physical contact with telephone wires or power wires • Interference with solar panels or satellite, TV, or other media reception • Leaf fall • ANY Fruit or Seed Problems including but not limited to cherry and apple fruits, winged “helicopter” seeds, cotton covered seeds etc. • Problems associated with pollen • Excreta, mess, sap, or staining caused by insects or birds • Obstruction of the view from house windows, gardens, balconies etc • Shedding of small twigs which is considered normal, especially if they are dead or have been clipped by squirrels. Nor will we remove leaf and branch debris at the base of a tree which protect the tree from lawn mowers, strimmers and dogs

  The situation will be reviewed cyclically as part of our programme of tree condition surveys and safety inspections.

• Street trees are an essential element of residential neighbourhoods delivering important ecological benefits the urban environment where they needed the most. Benefits include improving air quality by the production of clean oxygen and the removal of pollution particulates from the air, improved human health and well-being, temperature reduction in hot periods through their shade, provision of important habitats for birds, fungi, insects, and other species that would otherwise be unable to exist in the urban environment. They also add to the aesthetic/amenity value of the street scene and even increase properties values and can reduce air conditioning costs. All our trees are inspected every three years by qualified Tree Officers to ensure that they are kept in the safest possible condition. We also respond to issues raised through Fix My Street and carry out any necessary works. • This tree has been inspected and is not considered to require remedial works at this time. Bromley will only undertake works to a tree for an identified health & safety or highway obstruction issue. The situation will be reviewed cyclically and any required action will be addressed within a future works programme.
