Request to review double yellow lines

Reported via mobile in the Problem with BCC highway works undertaken category anonymously at 16:23, Monday 15 June 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9625307.

On Clyde Road there is a short section of double yellow lines. I live nearby and have two young children, while our neighbour next door has mobility difficulties. Parking on the road is already challenging, particularly at weekends, as many visitors use the street for access to Whiteladies Road.

I understand that Clyde Road is due to be closed and resurfaced on 17 June. Given these works, I wondered whether the Council might consider reviewing the need for the double yellow lines at this location and potentially converting the area into an additional parking bay.

There is a garage entrance next to this section, which is currently protected by single yellow lines. From a resident's perspective, it is not immediately clear why the nearby section requires double yellow lines, and I would be grateful if you could explain the rationale if there is a specific reason for them.

I appreciate that parking restrictions are often necessary for safety and access reasons, but given the existing parking pressures on the road, I felt it would be worth raising the question while resurfacing works are being undertaken. I have attached a photo for your reference.

Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards
