Urgent request for Bromley Council to inspect and carry out full maintenance of the public tree and surrounding overgrown thorny bushes in our cul-de-sac, as they now present a safety risk to residents and children.

Reported via mobile in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 06:53, Monday 15 June 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9620198.

I am writing to raise a concern regarding a public tree and the surrounding vegetation located in the communal area of our cul-de-sac. Over the past year or so, it appears that maintenance of this area has been limited to grass cutting and general cleaning. In the past, the Council's maintenance teams also carried out regular upkeep of the vegetation around the tree, including pruning and removal of overgrown bushes. Unfortunately, this no longer appears to be taking place. As a result, the bushes surrounding the tree have become significantly overgrown and are now producing large thorny spikes. These have spread into areas regularly used by residents and children who play nearby. The current condition presents a potential safety hazard, particularly for young children and anyone walking through the area. I would therefore respectfully request that the Council arrange for an inspection of the site as a matter of urgency and undertake the necessary maintenance works. This should include cutting back and removing the overgrown thorny vegetation around the tree, together with any other remedial work required to restore the area to a safe and properly maintained condition. I would be grateful if you could confirm receipt of this request and advise what action will be taken. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
