Blocked/ burst drain

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9597967.

Water coming out at the drain I pinned and but also lots of excess water on the road from here to the end of hilda vale road - puddle was so big I had to go another route.

  • Heavy rainfall in short bursts can cause localised issues, in these instances the amount of water that can drain away through drainage gullies and the soakaway can be limited as the area around the soakwaway becomes so saturated that it is like full sponges and can take no more. Rain falling onto these areas is simply running off or out to the lowest points and that can mean coming back out of the gullies until either the rain subsides or the ground gradually soaks up the water.
