Unsuitable drainage when raining

Reported via mobile in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 13:36, Tuesday 9 June 2026

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9588292.

Persistent drainage problem at pedestrian crossing and footway in Edinburgh road

Following recent rainfall, significant flooding occurs around the pedestrian crossing and adjacent footpath. Water is pooling across the crossing point and running along the footway, making access difficult for pedestrians, wheelchair users, mobility scooter users, cyclists and people with prams.

The issue appears to be caused by blocked or defective drainage, as the water is not draining away and remains on both the pavement and road surface. This creates a slip hazard and forces pedestrians to walk through standing water.

Please arrange for the gullies and drainage infrastructure to be inspected and cleared, and investigate whether there is an underlying drainage defect at this location.

Photographs attached showing the extent of the flooding.
