Large pothole causing severe building vibrations from buses and heavy vehicles

Reported via desktop in the Potholes category anonymously at 09:50, Thursday 4 June 2026

Sent to Lambeth Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9559403.

There is a large pothole in the road directly in front of my building, on the road side going from Brixton towards Tulse hill station. Every time a bus or heavy vehicle drives over it, the whole building vibrates strongly. This has been an issue for some time, but the pothole has now become much worse and the vibrations are significantly more noticeable.

The vibration can be felt throughout the building and inside my room. Sometimes it is strong enough to wake me up at night, like a sudden impact travelling through the building. This happens many times per day, especially when large buses or heavy vehicles pass.

I am concerned that the repeated heavy vibrations could cause damage to the building structure, walls, windows, or eventually lead to cracks or other structural issues. Please inspect and repair this road defect as soon as possible, as it is causing serious disturbance and potential risk to the property.
