Drain immediately at the end of Askot House's driveway.

Reported via desktop in the Standing water covering less than half the road category anonymously at 21:26, Wednesday 3 June 2026 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2893634.

This has been reported before but has not been dealt with and is very much still an issue (First reported 18-12-2025). The drain immediately at the end of Askot House's driveway is not draining. This is an issue as there is only a footpath on the one side of this road, and when it is flooded it forces pedestrians either on to the driveway or into the road, neither of which is ideal for our more elderly residents. At night it presents more of an obstacle as there is no near street light to light the way around the flooding. You have sent a drain cleaning truck some time in March but the operator clearly wasn't given the correct information and/or location of the problem drain, and thus all he did was clean all the other drains along Spridlington Road except the one that was under water.

  • We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report because an officer has reviewed the enquiry and whilst we appreciate this may be considered a nuisance, the blocked gully reported is not showing any defect from the annual cleansing programme. These currently not considered to be a high priority to the County Council. Extensive works have been completed outside Manor Farm. From these works we identified the dyke needs to be dug out to expose the outfall for the system to run efficiently. The dyke maintenance is the adjacent land owners responsibility. We advise reporting this to the local Internal Drainage Board (IDB). Once the dyke has been cleared out, the system should be self cleansing. Please note that this gully will still be cleansed annually or biennially in accordance with County Council policy. Thank you for reporting this matter.

State changed to: No further action
