Street lamp shining in my bedroom window

The lamppost next to my house shines directly in my bedroom window, this issue affects me and no other properties on my street. Can I apply to have it turned off at night? There is little to no footfall past my building at night. Having to have thick blackout curtains is affecting my ability to wake up in the mornings because it's always dark.
