Flooding on A6 blocking pedestrian crossing.
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 16:18, Mon 9 January 2017
Sent to Lancashire County Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 954826.
This flood has already been reported recently and has been ongoing for at least a month. It is dangerous to both drivers and pedestrians. Drivers are having to drive over half way into the road to avoid the flood and as HGVs can't do this, they are producing a large wave and spray which has nearly caused passers by to get soaking wet. Also, as mentioned previously, the lights are changing to red almost every minute, even when nobody is crossing, which is causing traffic to back up on an already busy road. If the water freezes in the expected cold spell, as serious accident could be caused. The nearby drain is not blocked on the surface, it needs a proper mechanical clean out. This need sorting IMMEDIATELY.

Not sure yet as it hasn't rained much since. Difficult to tell if the drain has been cleared. Pedestrian crossing lights working normally though.

Hopefully this has been fixed, but only a bad downpour will prove it. It will be re-reported if it isn't.
