Failing Road Surface and Raised Repair on Upper Woodcote Road

Reported via desktop in the Potholes category anonymously at 18:34, Sunday 31 May 2026

Sent to Reading Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9536329.

Upper Woodcote Road, Caversham Heights What3Words: ///plots.brief.crown

The edge of the carriageway at this location is breaking up and appears to be structurally failing. There is extensive cracking, loose aggregate and progressive surface deterioration along the kerbside running lane.

A previous repair has also been left raised above the surrounding carriageway, creating a ridge that has altered the road profile adjacent to a residential access.

The location is on a bend where cyclists and motorcyclists naturally travel close to the damaged section. The combination of loose material, cracking and the raised repair is becoming increasingly noticeable and appears to be deteriorating further.

Photographs show both the surface failure and the raised repair profile.

I would appreciate an inspection by Reading Borough Council and consideration of a permanent resurfacing solution rather than further patching.
