Urgent Concern Regarding Wall Subsidence near The Club, Newnham HIgh Street

The retaining wall located on High Street, Newnham-on-Severn, Gloucestershire.
The wall appears to be subsiding and showing significant signs of structural movement, creating a potential hazard to the adjacent public footpath and surrounding area. There is also concern that further deterioration or possible collapse could affect the adjoining roadway, posing a risk to pedestrians, vehicles, and the general public.
The issues observed include:
Visible cracking and movement within the wall structure Subsidence and displacement at the base/foundation area Instability affecting the nearby public access route/footpath Risk of collapse onto the adjoining highway Ongoing deterioration that may worsen without urgent intervention

This report has now been passed to the Highways team for assessment.
If repair work is required, it will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
