On street parking causing chaos.

People have taken to parking on street on Hightown Road hill. This makes the road single lane traffic. Given that this road is on a bus route and carries very high volumes of traffic at certain times of the day it really needs parking restrictions. It has become dangerous for drivers because the delays cause desperate and dangerous manoeuvres, and it is also very hazardous for pedestrians. When there is an accident on the M40 the volume of traffic is so high that it backs up in both directions on Hightown Road making access to Bankside, Tramway Road etc. very difficult.

More and more vehicles are parking along Hightown Road, heading down the hill towards town centre, between Lime Avenue and Western Crescent. Very difficult to see oncoming traffic. Vehicles parking at the end of Lime Avenue and Western Crescent leading onto Hightown Road parking illegally on the junction, obscuring vision.

The cars parked on Hightown Road between Foscote Rise and Western Crescent are likely to cause a serious accident. As more cars are parked on the left side of the road traffic heading down the hill has to attempt to pass without being able to see what is coming towards them. This puts pedestrians and drivers at serious risk. It needs to be addressed as a priority given the increasing congestion in Banbury and the number of schools children that walk to school on Hightown Road.

Parking on the corner of Hightown road and Green Lane is now becoming ridiculous. Cars are parking right up to the junction of Hightown Road which is a busy thoroughfare and anyone wanting to turn into Green Lane has to turn in on the wrong side of the road. An accident here will happen, it's only a matter of time.
