Due to the heat the road has melted and sunk down creating a dangerous hole.

  • There is a significant void under the tarmac, about 2 feet deep and several feet across, making the road unsafe.

    Dangerous sinkhole/road collapse on Cowper Road, Redland, Bristol. There is a visible cavity underneath the road surface and the opening appears unstable. It is in the carriageway near parked cars/bins and poses an immediate risk to pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles. Needs urgent inspection/barrier.

  • Thanks Bristol CC, ETM turned up today and put some barriers round it and put a road closed sign next to it. Would be helpful to get another road closed sign for junction of Cowper & Melville.

    Also please can we get an update on when it will be fixed and road reopened please.
