New road surface uneven and not sealed into old surface

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 22:23, Sunday 10 May 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9431130.

As others have reported, the new road surface by Thames Water is very uneven. But I want to add that the edges of the repairs, against the old surface, haven't been sealed over with bitumen so it will break up in the frost.

Council ref: ENQ261100123

  • The repaired surfacing is hazardous for cyclists. The whole of the new surface has a regular severe ripple throughout the whole of the new surface. This uneaven surface can cause instability in road cyclists. It is not supportive of oxfordshires drive to maintain adequate cycle routes

  • I came her to report this too. Parts of this road were recently resurfaced to a decent finish. And Thames water have come along and destroyed a long stretch of it. Why aren't utility companies held liable for their crappy finishing? This will breaking apart by this time next year.
