The extensive road works surrounding where we live and work are making life depressing when it is difficult enough.
Why would all these road alterations be planned at the same time everywhere? Who plans this? Surely you have educated people that should plan accordingly so that the city can flow. Thats what a university education is for.
Have you been on Callington Road or West Town Lane when emergency services are trying to get through?
The cycle lane that was so not needed as was working very well before, and yes I do use it - work on this for months causing the community a lot of stress getting to and from their homes - frustratingly for no need. The decision makers for this nonsense do not live in South Bristol - it feels often like we are an experiment.
For the love of god - fix the pot holes, leave streets and roads alone - no more pedestrian area's pushing traffic to the outskirts to go around the city. Is this where the planners live, inner city?
Put the road through Whitchurch as some intelligent people planned many years ago with the foresight that traffic /housing and population over all will increase in these areas and surrounding - where are the brains and foresight in the current administration - get some kahuna's stop messing about and wasting money on unnecessary road alterations and join all the other infrastructure that was put in through those lovely fields and woods between Ashton and Bedminster Down, Highridge and Keynsham(where there were Great Created Newts and Bats and Badgers and all the wildlife but no one cared then) and surely it will flow. Whitchurch is missing - join that up. Spend the money on completing a competent plan. All the little bits here and there are just causing chaos. One accident on the M5 and the city comes to a standstill. It's crazy out there!
Please, please, please stop - you are making this city so much worse - everyone I speak to really detest Bristol City Council - we have a hospital right in the middle of all this and speaking as someone who walks to work there - imagine you have an appointment at the hospital or are one of the many stretched services that are involved in the inpatients care - it's not just affecting the local community it is also the people that work in and around it.
