Bridleway cannot be accessed on foot, horse or bicycle

Reported via desktop in the Passage-Obstructed/Overgrown category anonymously at 10:47, Thursday 7 May 2026

Sent to West Northamptonshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9413851.

Bridleway cannot be accessed because hedge has been allowed to grow over access point into farmer's field. Nearby gate is too heavy for most walkers to open and cannot be opened whilst on horse / bicycle. Farmer has allowed bridleway to grow over.

  • Investigation: Ongoing - Thank you for your enquiry.
A Rights of Way Officer has attended the site and can confirm that the legal line of the bridleway runs through the gate and is currently usable and passable.
We have also contacted the landowner to remind them of their statutory duty to maintain the cross-field path (bridleway) so that it remains accessible throughout the year.
