Build up of mud at edge of road raises areas where cars pull over and applies relatively dangerous camber. Various places along the road. It is essential to pull over onto these areas. Note in particular areas on bad bend by Checkley Brook Farmhouse. Cars in middle of road coming from Bridgemere end of lane towards Wrinehill.

Sent to Cheshire East Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 939437.
There are various areas where mud build up causes camber on lane to change. Fast moving vehicles move out of way of oncoming traffic either way and cars could tip. There are always bike users on this lane now following a bike race coming along the lane. I don't ever go out without a bike being on the lane, nor do I ever pull out of my drive without a car passing. There has been an increase in traffic and the speed on the lane should now be looked at again and reduced to 30mph. We have requested this in 1997 and 20 years later it has become more dangerous with no real change (the overall quality of the lane has much improved - thank you).

Checkley Lane, Checkley CW5 7QA has various areas of serous mud build up at the side of the road. One area is near to a drain/curb so you can't 'see' the curbing so when you move out of the way of oncoming traffic you can easily go up and over the curb (anyone at speed could tip their car. Other areas have serious mud build up with pot holes and it is impossible to avoid these. Breaking in these areas causes skidding. Needs site survey and correction.

Checkley Lane has dangerous mud and grit on the road today at around 10am. The edges of the road are very muddy with some compacted mud in places on both sides of the road along the 3 mile stretch. Further build up will cause any car at high speed that needs to swerve to be raised on one side which will cause tipping of the vehicle. The road is currently a National Speed Limit 60mph route with the following types of traffic: farm vehicles, articulated lorries, cards, vans/delivery vehicles, cyclists, motorbikes, horses, school bus, the shoot and associated vehicles and more. Regular cyclist route now.
