Enforcement Letters sent - no action
Reported via desktop in the Shrubs/Trees category anonymously at 21:10, Thursday 30 April 2026
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9381925.
Hello BCC - you've closed ref 8539647, 8140448, 8505911, 4863646, 3034037, 5848479, 3569996 and 6833453.
At least 8 reports via FixMyStreet over many years, all of which close with 'we've sent an enforcement letter, let us know if the matter is unresolved after 28 days'.
Would you say your approach of sending enforcement letters is solving the problem the community is raising with you over and over again?
The community cannot take any action, other than report here. Which we're doing. Repeatedly.
It's a safety issue. That BCC has no appetite to resolve. That much is now clear.
What is now going to be most disappointing is that this will be raised with councillors, at which point this issue will get moved along. And in the process reinforcing a view that BCC does not take the concerns of residents seriously unless a) it's something simple to resolve or b) the request comes from a councillor.

As a reminder - here is what happens when no enforcement action is taken.
Families are forced to push buggies in the road on a blind corner and those with mobility issues and perhaps using a wheelchair are unable to use the pavement safely.
