Commercial property wheelie bins constantly left on pavement

Reported in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category anonymously at 18:45, Thu 1 December 2016

Sent to Cardiff Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 935944.

Business leaving wheelie bins out on residential pavements, blocking footpaths, also left in front of houses, carelessly scraping and damaging resident/shop buildings when moved. Leaving large commercial bins in front of residential properties is unacceptable. The business needs to be told to stop or adopt a proper waste disposal strategy.

Updates

  • The Domino's pizza establishment in Brentwood Road has been using the pavement in Great Gardens Road as a storage area for their commercial waste bins for months. Between January 10th and March 18th they were cluttering the pavement for all but seven days. For a week, they also had bags of building material which took up so much of the pavement, anyone with a buggy had to push their child into the road to get past (as my daughter can testify). We had about a week free of their bins but they have now been out for six consecutive days.

  • Commercial bins kept on the street blocking double yellow lines and on the public highway.
