Unseen (in darkness) Tall post

Reported via desktop anonymously at 03:00, Monday 27 April 2026

Sent to Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9358094.

This wooden post is in the alleyway that runs from Falcon Close, across a footbridge over the stream and up to Knights Road and is positioned alongside the last terrace house in the row -number 144/146(?) Kestrel Crescent. The issue with this is, because its wood, no-one can see this in the darkness and people often walk into it (7 different people that I know of), so its a nasty health hazard. It is not visible due to the darkness in this part of the alley. More people will walk into it.

Are you able to give this a quick coat of say fluorescent paint, so that it shows up to people walking? The reason for not suggesting say reflective plastic r metal to be fastened is due to the definite possibility of any such items having the potential of being vandalised. Incidentally, one of the afore mentioned people had to have a hernia operation as a result of personally colliding with it. Others its caused damage to the groin or stomach areas by walking into something you just don't see in the dark
