Hedges significantly intruding into path

Reported via mobile in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 09:00, Friday 24 April 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9346449.

The walk way for many people on the way to the local school is significantly impacted by hedges which are intruding into the public pathway, making it difficult for parents to use. The hedges are so over the properties boundary lines that the paths have become single file, at best. People have to step into the road with their children and have issues passing freely with pushchairs so the child is not scratched by the branches. A seasonal cut is no longer sufficient and a sizeable portion of these hedges need to be removed for people’s safety.

  • A seasonal trim of the hedges has been completed recently but they still significantly encroach on the public path. Using the manhole as a reference point, the hedges still appear to cover approximately 2-3 feet of the path.
