In the footway outside my property is 24"×18" pit cover ( covering pit containing a gas valve). Over the last few weeks a hole, currently approx 6"×2", into the pit has developed between the frame of the cover and the footway. I'm concerned that with children riding scooters with narrow wheels, and children's pushchairs being regularly wheeled past, there is a danger of an accident happening. I reported this to EDF, but the person I spoke to thought it would be a Highways problem.
