Grass verge not maintained
Reported via mobile in the Grass category anonymously at 21:06, Sunday 19 April 2026
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9319602.
The grass verge next to my end of terrace property (54 the camellias) has not been maintained for the almost 2 years I have been living here and for years before this (according to my neighbours) it is now full of weeds, and it is difficult to maintain. It is expensive, I don’t have the money, resources and time to look after this grass area that I do not own but feel obliged to occasionally as it looks scruffy and causes weeds to spread onto my front garden. Who is responsible and why is this not maintained?

Thank you for your report. The grass in this location looks to be privately owned so would be the responsibility of the landowner or tenant to maintain. Landowners and occupiers (tenents) are legally obligated to properly maintain vegetation on their property that is next to the public highway. The Highway authority are responsible for the footway and carriageway in this location only, regards.
