Dangerous cycling
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9319346.
On several occasions I have had to take evasive action as a driver maintaining a reasonable speed of <15mph around the Oval due to cyclists pulling straight across the road from this footpath without slowing / looking / stopping.
This is dangerous cycling by the minority, but I suspect will result in a collision / injury without action.
Please can the council consider installing barriers / infrastructure to slow cyclists on the approach to the road from this footpath with poor visibility. This would enable drivers to see the cyclists early enough to slow down / prepare to stop, and enable cyclists to look to ensure it’s clear before cycling across.
This is *not* a designated cycle path. While I appreciate how convenient it is to cyclists, current behaviour is dangerous and won’t stop until someone is seriously hurt or infrastructure is installed.
