Extreme poor condition of road, surface and markings on zebra crossing

The zebra crossing, surrounding zigzags and road surface in general has been in an extremely poor state for many months, and deteriorating over a few years without maintenance and repair. It is a key crossing in central Thame, and has been dangerous for pedestrians, children’s’ bikes, mobility scooters, prams and anyone infirm for a very long time. There have been several accidents and near misses discussed on social media. The road is 3-dimensional with pot holes, deep craters and general erosion. The crossing markers are mostly obscured by decaying road surface, and only the beacons now identify it as a crossing. Several people have reported this to OCC over the last couple of years, but the pleas to repair and make safe have been ignored. It requires full refurbishment similar to the recent work undertaken to carriageways in East St, Park St and Upper High St (thank you for these, they are vastly improved). This crossing on North St now needs to be dug out, levelled, resurfaced and properly repainted please, before a more serious incident occurs due to neglect.
