Flooding in road outside front of Mayfield Cottage

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9305259.

Flooding of the road to various degrees of severity occurs outside Mayfield Cottage every time it rains. This was reported on 27.01.26, ref 8779435 and ENQ261077939. On 16.04.26 Oxfordshire County Council closed the case stating “this road and all active units within, were attended to during the routine annual cleaning program on 31/3/26, and are now fully functional.”. However the road had accumulated water over the site of the drain following the heavy downpour of rain on 15.04.26 at approximately 18:30. The routine cleaning on 31.03.26 was either not done (possible if a car was parked at the location at the time) or not done effectively. Please can the problem be reassessed and resolved.

    Further large expanse of water (approx 5m x 2m) covering half of the road width has accumulated over and around the road drain site following the downpour of rain this afternoon, photos at 6pm 02.06.2026. The drain clearly remains blocked and needs urgent resolution.

  • This has been fixed today, 12.06.26, thank you. The workmen said it was very blocked. The sign for ‘no parking’ put out the day before at the site was helpful and made sure the area was clear.
