There is a sinkhole forming under peat road

Reported via mobile in the Roads/highways category by Jakub Cielesz at 18:28, Wednesday 15 April 2026

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9300030.

Over the past few months i have observed a sinkhole grow larger under the pedestrian crossing on peat road right next to the roundabout and it seems to be expanding under the road, there is a small opening under the fence on the silverburn facing side of the crossing which is currently around knee deep but you can see that it goes deeper the further back it goes, creating this sort of cone shape from rocks and debris.

Updates

  • The hole continues to grow, people keep chucking their rubbish down it.
