Completely failed road surface - now dangerous
Reported via iOS in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 07:46, Thursday 9 April 2026
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9261824.
The entire road surface from the Burford bridge up to the top of the hill on the A424 towards Stow, has completely failed. Large areas of multiple, deep potholes have developed over the last months and are now at such a point where it is a real danger to all road users. This has been reported many, many times before and on each occasion is ‘closed’ with a statement that the problem has been ‘fixed’. I would encourage any of the people responsible to actually visit and attempt to safely use this section of road to see for themselves. Please spend a while observing the movements and changes in vehicles speeds that are taking place as drivers try and navigate safely through the obstacles…
