Multiple potholes across the width of the road

This section of road has been terrible for years. A section of the road was repaired in 2025 but this section was left despite having multiple shallow defects. The poor drainage in the area (a nearby spring flows onto the road and nothing has been done to channel it away from the road) and a wet winter have caused substantial deterioration. It’s a hazard to anyone travelling by motorbike or bike especially in the dark.

  • I reported this via FixMyStreet because the it’s the easiest method to report plus they follow up to check if the problem has been fixed. West Sussex CC who are responsible for this section of road operate a system whereby when they receive a complaint they delegate it and mark the job as complete because it’s ’off their desk’ but have no system to follow up.
