Failed Manhole (AGAIN)
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9246289.
This is at least the third time I have personally reported this specific manhole. It fails at least one/twice each year!, which is because it is incorrectly positioned on the road. Please fix it permanently by moving it away from the direct path of the wheels of cars and lorries. Moving it, although more challenging in the short term, must be the cheaper option in the medium/long term. The noise created by vehicles hitting the unstable manhole breach sound disturbance regulation.

Almost all manhole covers have some form of identification on them, and it is likely that the manhole cover is owned by a utility company, who are legally responsible for maintaining it.
This report has been passed to the Highway Officer, who will carry out an inspection within the next 10 working days and if it is found to be the responsibility of Buckinghamshire Highways we will take the appropriate action. If, however, it is found to be the responsibility of the utility company we will report the issue to them, but please note we have no control regarding how long it will take to be fixed by the utility company.

The Highways Officer has attended the site and completed an inspection based on your report.
As a result of this inspection, we plan to resolve the issue reported within 6-8 weeks.
