15 inch pothole very deep

There is a particularly large pothole measuring approximately 15 inches across and very deep, located at the side of the road, along with numerous others throughout the area. The extent of the damage makes the road extremely hazardous for all users. My vehicle, along with many others, has already suffered damage as a result.

Due to the presence of potholes on both sides of the road, vehicles are being forced to swerve to avoid them. Combined with the lack of adequate lighting, this creates a dangerous situation that could easily result in a head-on collision.

I previously reported this issue in February 2025, and I am extremely frustrated that no action has yet been taken. The situation has clearly worsened and now requires immediate attention.

I urge you to treat this as a matter of urgency and confirm when repairs will be carried out.

  • Oxfordshire council. What's going on. That whole stretch of road needs resurfacing. Please issue a ETA of when all these pot holes down that high speed stretch of road will be fixed. Not just a "we know, we have passed it on" generic comment.

  • This pothole continues to increase in size and is linked to others around the manhole cover. Vehicles cross on to the other side of the road despite on coming traffic to avoid. This is particularly concerning when larger vehicles cross coming towards you. Vehicles are going to suffer damage and / or there will be a collision.
