Garden converted to parking causing damage to pavement and accessibility hazard

Reported via mobile in the Uneven surface category anonymously at 11:00, Wednesday 25 March 2026

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9183934.

This issue was previously reported and an update was provided confirming that an enforcement letter had been sent to the property owner (63 Hengrove Lane). However, more than 28 days have now passed and no action appears to have been taken.

The property is still using the front garden as a driveway without an approved dropped kerb. Vehicles continue to mount the pavement, which is not designed for vehicle use and is at risk of further damage. The pavement has began to sink and the curb stones confine to get damaged.

The driveway surface remains loose gravel/chippings, which are regularly spreading across the pavement and into the road, blocking drains and spreading far down the road. This continues to obstruct the footway, create a slip and trip hazard, cause accessibility issues for wheelchair users, pushchairs, and pedestrians and reduce the safe usable width of the pavement.

The situation has not improved and is worsening due to ongoing use.
