The junction of Downs Rd & Burford road resembles a Swiss cheese.

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category by Mrs B Walker at 15:26, Tuesday 24 March 2026

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9179068.

I have reported & photographed numerous potholes on this road - too many to individually photo or describe again. The roads around Witney are a disgrace. They are life threatening to motorcyclists and cyclists and cost motorists a fortune in tyre and wheel repairs. Why do we put up with this appalling sevice when we all pay our road tax? Apart from 20 mph signs and a lot of unnecessary white paint what do the Highways actually spend our money on??? Any temporary repairs are badly done patchwork at best and usually open again after the first truck drives over them on a wet day. When are you going to do something about them, or will you just wait for a fatal accident or two?

  • I reported this ten weeks ago and this weekend I saw a motorcyclist with l plates nearly come off due to the poor condition repairs have been done Burford side of the lights but not between the lights if a young motorcyclist gets killed it will be a travesty caused by lack of action by the council
